Sisters Mohini and Aditi were brought up by their single mother with meager resources. As young women, both strive to escape village life and its restrictions.
For fiercely independent Mohini, nothing is more important than financial security and a higher status in life. But easy-going Aditi just wants love and acceptance.
Their paths diverge when Mohini marries into a rich family and Aditi marries her high school sweetheart.
